Big expectations surround this program as a platform to increase our expertise with developing circular supply chains and untapping new opportunities for sustainability gains with future products.
Our Take Back program is currently focused on finding ways to increase the use value of recycled stainless steel blades. High quality stainless steel double edged blades are used around the world, and as such, could be used to make high quality subsequent products. Making this happen is our goal. To achieve this end, we have decided to expand our program to accept all double edged razor brands including those made by our competitors. Our take back program helps reduce stainless steel production energy by up to 67% and CO2 emissions by roughly 70%, and, as such, we want to keep as much stainless in the supply chain as possible. Stainless steel, like other metals, is a great material to work with because it is strong, versatile, and infinitely reusable.
We currently have products made out of our blade steel in mind that get incrementally more spectacular. For example: steel water bottles, living roofs and passive, home cooling systems could all be made of our recycled wonder steel! But, this effort ultimately starts with DE safety razor shaving.
