We talk a lot about going plastic-free. But what does that really mean when it comes to shaving?
Let’s break it down.
Most commercial razors—the ones you find at the drugstore—are made with multiple types of plastic and rubber. They’re fused together in ways that make them unrecyclable. Add the blade cartridges, the packaging, the PFAS lubricating strips, and you’ve got a product designed to be thrown away after a few uses that isn’t really great at anything.
Plastic-free shaving is the exact opposite. It’s about creating a system that lasts. One that doesn’t generate microplastics. One that doesn't need landfills or incinerators to manage its waste. And, importantly one with blades not coated in PFAS.
Our razors are made entirely of metal. The blades are recyclable, and we even run a take-back program [it’s the world’s first that we started over a decade ago] to ensure they don’t end up in the wrong place. Our packaging? Recycled paper, biodegradable twine, no plastic seals or stickers. Every detail is considered.
But shaving plastic-free is about more than materials. It’s about intention. It’s about slowing down and taking ownership of what you consume. It’s about aligning your morning routine with your values.
It’s also about performance. A lot of people are shocked the first time they try a safety razor. They expect a compromise. Instead, they get the best shave of their life. No tugging. No irritation. Just clean, precise shaving.
It makes sense. When you strip away the gimmicks—vibrating handles, moisturizing strips, color-changing indicators—you’re left with a tool that works better.
And when you experience that kind of quality, it’s hard to go back. You start asking questions. What else in my life could be simpler? Better made? Less wasteful? More elegant?
That’s the quiet power of plastic-free shaving. It opens a door. And once you walk through it, the world looks different.
